Combinations and tricks

Table hockey is about speed, mental strength and physical and mental endurance. But perhaps most of all, table hockey is about tricks. Practiced moves on the board that, just like a pull-in on all fours in curling, must be performed at the crucial moments. On this page you can learn over 200 tricks from every conceivable position on the board.

The list is not complete. There are probably many out there who have scored on a "nail bounce on the edge" or some other unknown trick. There are also many undiscovered tricks on the board just waiting for an originator.

The list contains some words and phrases that need definition: "Forward" and "back" on the board mean the end of the board that is closest and furthest from the player, respectively. For example, the center is close to the opponent's goalkeeper if he is standing forward in the slot. A reference to snowboarding is in the word "fakie", which means the opposite direction of the usual, often used for a trick that is usually performed from the right back, but which in the "fakie" version is performed from the left back. "Inverse" is a more specific term than "fakie" and means a trick performed in the opposite order. Tricks that end in "o" are most often a more difficult variant of the trick without the "o". Tricks whose name is not in bold are tricks the author of the article has doubts about whether a goal has been scored on in an official match (international or national tournament, or local league). For registrations of scores on tricks, information about new tricks or existing names of tricks, questions or objections, contact amund.fylling@puck.no.

Each trick is given a difficulty level. These values are intended as a guideline, and many people will probably disagree with some of them. The difficulty levels are on the following scale from 0 to 10:
